A Gift for Joe
Welcome to our fundraising site for Joe. Jessi met her boyfriend Joe about 5 years ago in 2006. Last year, they started a massive remodel of a Mira Mesa home that had been in the Debaca family since Vickie and Frank were first married. Originally intended for the grandparents to live in, a group of quirky tenants lived there for the last 16 years and left the home in shambles. Jessi and Joe stripped the home down to the drywall and rebuilt it themselves using mostly second-hand or heavily-discounted materials in creative ways. The result is a beautiful and inviting place where the pair lived until her passing.
Jessi and Joe still had a few plans for the home they did not get the chance to complete, such as: erecting a wooden fence around the backyard for privacy, re-building the retaining wall in the backyard, and wiring the outdoor patio for lighting.
Please give what you can to support Joe’s work on the home that he and Jessi built together. All funds will go towards helping Joe complete the projects she had sketched out but not yet completed. Donations for Joe’s project fund will close soon so he can use the funds during his bereavement leave to stay busy. Our minimum fundraising goal is $500, which would help Joe get started on the wooden fence however, we would love to be able to keep him busier than that.
